How does ActiveCare know if I fall?

The PAL detects a fall through the built-in accelerometer, which automatically notifies the CareCenter.

What happens when I fall?

The PAL will announce that a fall has been detected. A CareSpecialist will be notified and then ask if you are in need of assistance. The CareSpecialist’s voice can be heard through the speaker on the PAL.

What if my fall is an emergency?

A CareSpecialist will inquire if it is an emergency and will send help if needed. If there is no response, a CareSpecialist will follow the safety protocol, which includes calling your home, calling the emergency contact, and calling emergency services (when needed).

Do I have to be carrying or wearing my PAL for fall detection to be activated?

Yes, it's important to always wear your PAL on your person for the fall detection function to be active. Also, remember to charge your PAL at night so it's ready for use.
