Another Success Story
On May 5 at 10:19 A.M. Est., Mrs. Durgin caught her leg on the screen door causing her to fall in the doorway. With no one around and bleeding Mrs. Durgin was conscious, but unable to get up. Automatically detecting the fall Mrs. Durgin’s PAL automatically connected her to the CareCenter where CareSpecialists (Erik Gonzales) was able to assist. Following emergency medical dispatch (EMD) protocols and procedures the CareSpecialist was able to find her location and find the appropriate emergency services. Contacting Staten Island Emergency Services (Grace 24933), the CareSpecialist (Erik) provided Mrs. Durgin’s location as well was her current medications, allergies and medical history.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Durgin was being calmed by an additional CareSpecialist, who was able to connect Mrs. Durgin with her daughter Linda.
Once emergency services arrived, it was determined that the member needed to be transported to Staten Island University South Medical Center. He daughter Linda was given this information and was going to meet her mother at the emergency room of the hospital.
